Casa del Sol is a beachfront option a couple doors down from Red Mangrove...which is a couple doors down from Casa de Marita. Casa del Sol has 11 rooms and 8 of them have that magnificent ocean view, especially two which are built like mini-lofts with high ceilings and spectacular ocean views to wake up to.  Most are bright, airy, adorned with the owner's paintings and in brand new condition.  Baths are basic tile, but spacious and really nice. Mattresses and pillows are comfy and housekeeping superb.

The hotel has oceanfront hammocks for lounging. The owner is a Naturalist Guide in the Galapagos for more than 2 decades and when he is there, you could learn a lot, but he commutes between Isabela and Qutio.  Otherwise, the staff is 1 person and no English.  Unlike pretty much every other hotel in the Galapagos, breakfast is not included nor do they have a restaurant.  They do provide morning coffee service after 8 AM and there are plenty of options for breakfast within a block. This is a winner if you want a nice, ocean front room at a price way below other oceanfront options and don't mind the lack of breakfast on site.
