Iguana Crossing Galapagos Hotel  E-mail

Iguana Crossing Galapagos Hotel is the newest hotel to open in the Galapagos after a long construction by long time residents of Isabela, the owners of the Wooden House.  It is easily the nicest waterfront hotel in the whole of the Galapagos and certainly on Isabela. Construction is from native materials using local craftsmen.

Iguana Crossing is built on the southern end of town with nothing but National Park beyond it.  In front is the best part of Isabela's amazing white beach because it's the part in the National Park and therefore remains pristine...nothing but broad beach with powdery white sand and Isabela's unforgettable emerald green sea. Beside is where marine iguanas cross from the wetlands to the sea, thus its name, Iguana Crossing.  A walkway runs alongside across wetlands to the Isabela Breeding Center.

The tasteful architectural design brings the outdoors in to be a part of the decor.  Each room has incredible views be they of the sweeping beach and sea or the live volcano beyond the wetlands. Iguana Crossing offers a quality of decor, fine finishings, and attention to detail rare to encounter in the rustic Galapagos.  Food is prepared by an amazing Argentinian chef bringing a new standard to dining in Isabela.  Add to that a sustainability philosophy that doesn't merely greenwash for business nor forget that part of sustainability includes the welfare of the local community and what you have is the most beautiful hotel in the most beautiful location constructed by and operated with local residents.

Hotel Features Include:  Restaurant, Wireless Internet, Roof Deck with Jacuzzi, Swimming Pool, Indoor and outdoor bars, Concierge service for activities and transfers as well as laundry service.

Room Features Include:  Ocean view rooms, junior suites and one master suite. Rooms with volcano views (Sierra Negra and broad expanses of lava fields are the views from the back of the hotel) are smaller, but enjoy the same amenities.  All  have AC, wall mounted flat screen TV with cable,  alarm clocks with iPod docks, fresh drinking water, private baths with hot water, organic beauty products, hair dryer, cotton linens, telephone, large mirrored closets, and a safety deposit box.
